In this workshop, participants will learn about music, then, using everyday materials and a variety of techniques they will make their own musical instruments to create a family band. Instruments may include shakers, rattles, transverse flutes, ocarinas, drums, rain sticks and xylophones.

Inspired by Stan Douglas’s Malabar People portrait series, this workshop explores creative drawing and collage approaches to portraiture. Participants learn about the fundamentals of portraiture and create a portrait, which will be transformed through a mosaic magazine collage technique. Kids receive their portraits at the end of the workshop
